On June 11–12, 2026, the xG-RIC consortium gathered at Fraunhofer HHI in Berlin for the first consortium-wide xG-RIC Workshop, bringing together researchers and experts from across the consortium to align on research priorities, technical work structures, and end-to-end demonstration goals for the coming years.

Coordinated by Prof. Slawomir Stańczak, xG-RIC is the Technology Transfer Hub for Medicine and Mobility of the Future. The initiative aims to accelerate the transfer of cutting-edge 6G technologies into real-world applications and strengthen collaboration between research, industry, healthcare, and public stakeholders.

The workshop marked an important milestone in shaping the next phase of xG-RIC activities.

Day 1 focused on defining research challenges and priorities across the technical domains, aligning work structures, and discussing how emerging wireless technologies can address future requirements in medicine and mobility. Intensive breakout sessions enabled participants to further develop end-to-end demonstration concepts and strengthen collaboration across research tracks.

On Day 2, discussions turned toward the upcoming Berlin 6G Conference by 6G Platform Germany, where consortium partners consolidated contributions for technical sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and booth activities. Participants also presented the outcomes of the breakout sessions, refined the roadmap for the next phase of the project, and prepared upcoming contributions to showcase xG-RIC research and demonstration activities.

Key objectives of the workshop included:

• Aligning research priorities and work structures across TD1–TD4
• Defining end-to-end demonstrators and integration activities
• Bridging advanced 6G technologies with future application domains in medicine and mobility
• Strengthening collaboration across research tracks and consortium partners
• Preparing joint contributions for the upcoming Berlin 6G Conference
